Tushar Aggarwal
Founder and CEO
Tushar Aggarwal is the Founder and Managing Director of Akara Capital Advisors Private Limited. With over 20 years of experience in global investment banking and private equity, he brings a deep understanding of financial services across the U.S. and India. His career spans top-tier institutions and high-growth companies, equipping him with a unique blend of strategic insight and operational execution.
Before founding Akara Capital, Tushar served as Executive Director at Everstone Capital, where he led investments across Northern India in sectors such as retail and financial services. He previously worked with General Atlantic in New York, focusing on high-growth, technology-enabled businesses, and began his career in investment banking at Goldman Sachs and Lehman Brothers.
Tushar holds a BE in Electrical Engineering from Stony Brook University (Magna Cum Laude), an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and is a CFA Charterholder. He is also a Fellow of the Aspen Institute, a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network, and the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO).
Shruti Aggarwal
Co- founder
Shruti Aggarwal is the Co-Founder of Akara Capital Advisors Private Limited, with more than 20 years of experience across finance, investment banking, and entrepreneurship. She began her career at PwC in India, followed by a role at Merrill Lynch in New York, where she built a strong foundation in global finance.
Driven by a passion for building customer-centric businesses, she later launched Secret Caché, a luxury boutique in New York, gaining valuable experience in brand building and retail operations. At Akara, Shruti leverages her diverse background to build inclusive financial products that empower underserved and underbanked segments in India.
She is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) and a Master's degree from Columbia University. Shruti has been recognized in LiveMint's "Change the Narrative" list of 100 Women Entrepreneurs and received the Excellence in Fintech Award at the Economic Times Women Conclave 2025.
